A fab lab or makerspace is a place for innovation, invention, collaboration and learning using a variety of technical tools and materials through digital fabrication.
- Who can use Collaborate Lab at SFCC?

Open access to the lab is currently limited to SFCC students, staff, and faculty. However, anyone can sign up for our classes, workshops, camps, field trips, and special events.
- When is it open?

The lab is always available for appointments or scheduled events. Open lab hours for students, staff, and faculty are Monday – Friday 9am to 3pm.
- Can I use the equipment by myself?

Yes, after you complete orientation and equipment-specific safety training.
- Is there a cost to use the lab?

Currently the lab is funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation, and there is no cost to SFCC students, staff, and faculty. Some workshops, classes, and camps may have a registration fee.
